I
hate the Cubs

BAH
BAH BAHAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!
Yes,
I'm rooting against the Cubs. I hate them.
Here are my reasons....
First,
Dusty Baker. He's a big cry baby. After
his Giants' contract expired last season,
he had a very public feud with owner and
president Peter Magowan. Baker didn't
feel loved; he felt underappreciated.
He thought GM Brian Sabean was getting
too much credit for building the team.
He'd
show us.
And
he did. He led the Cubs to win the division.
But you know what? The Giants did even
better. They won 100 games. Granted, they
didn't get as far, but that had less to
do with Felipe Alou and more to do with
the defense and offense imploding.
Second,
I hate the Cubs' fans. Maybe it comes
from working with a bunch of guys from
Chicago; having to listen to them gush
over their lovable losers. Having to listen
over the wall about how the Cubs will
be going to the World Series. This conversation
took place before the first playoff pitch
was even thrown. Talk about over-confidence.
They've
even been ridiculous enough to claim that
Sammy Sosa is better than Barry Bonds.
If you're going to say something stupid
like that, I can't even take you seriously
as a baseball fan.
The
Cubs are now one lost from extending their
World Series-less streak. And they deserve
it. Blame the fans. They're the ones perpetuating
the billy goat curse.
Chicago
is pissed this morning. They want to kill
the fan who reached up for that foul ball.
But he did what any fan would do: he tried
to catch a fucking foul ball. It was in
the fucking stands. The umpire didn't
call fan interference because THERE WASN'T
ANY. But to read the Chicago papers this
morning, you'd think that he was purposely
sabatoging the Cubs or something.
The
fan had to be escorted out of the stadium.
When they led him out, people threw beer
and spit at him. There are actually fans
who spit on people. Fans outside waited
for him to come out. The ballpark staff
had to give him a disguise to get home
safely. The Cubs fans are scum.
I
checked out the Chicago papers online
this morning. There must have been half-dozen
stories about this fan. Not about the
game... about this fan. Chicagoans are
calling for his head. One sports writer
said he'd have to leave town to start
a new life. As if he'd turned in a gangland
killer or something.
The
fucking Chicago Sun-Times published the
guys name, his place of business and his
neighborhood. They interviewed his dad
and his neighbors. A spokesperson from
his office said he would not be coming
to work today. Everyone in town hates
him.
Poor
guy. Apparently, he's 26, a huge Cubs
fan. He loves them. He coaches little
league. And if the Cubs don't win game
seven tonight, his life in Chicago is
over. They blame this fan for the loss.
Never mind the error by Gonzalez. Never
mind Dusty leaving in Prior until the
go-ahead run was on fucking third base.
Their
fans don't deserve a World Series. THAT
is why the Cubs deserve to lose.

Fight!

I've
generally been pretty good about not going
too deeply into politics here, but the events
of the last week have got me pretty pissed
off.
I'm
a far-left Liberal Democrat and all the
shit's that's been going on in this country
for the last two years has me scared shitless.
With control of the presidency, the Senate
and the House, the right is free to run
rampant.
I'm
doing my part in voting, but as Tuesday's
gubernorial recall results show, San Francisco
seems to be the minority
in this regard.
My
only solace is that the Bush administration
seems to be hanging itself on a weekly basis
with their lies and missteps in Iraq and
the C.I.A./Wilson probe.
In
the meantime, you can help fight the power
by fighting the Bush administration's lies
with the truth. Below you'll find links
to reputable Left-wing sites. These are
not the web meanderings of psycho Left-wing
nuts, but well-researched journalists who
can back up their claims with facts, unlike
Ann Coulter.

Black
Tuesday

Conan
the Barbarian is governor of California.
This
is almost as bad as when Bush won. Californians
have only themselves to blame; or as George Bush
calls us, "California people."
The
only solace I can take away is knowing that the
republicans sold their souls to put a pro-choice,
pro-gun control candidate into office. He represents
everything their party is against.
Maybe
I'll wake up tomorrow to a "Dewey defeats
Truman" type miracle.
Don't
blame us. San Francisco county trounced the recall
vote: 80% AGAINST. We also voted Bustamante 63%
to Arnold's 20%.
Aw
Hell, at least the Cubs lost.

The
agony of defeat
So
it's all over. Make no mistake about it though:
the Marlins didn't beat the Giants. The Giants
beat themselves.
It
was a bigger heartbreak than last year. Last year,
I didn't give them a chance after that game 6
lost. It was as if the air had been sucked out
of their season in that one game. This year, I
felt all along that they could still win it all.
A feeling i will be paying for with several bets.
Yeah,
I was bummed, but most of all, I was sad. Sad
for Barry. The greatest player of the modern era
and possibly of all time, does not have a World
Series ring. Brian Sabean needs to rebuild again
this off-season and build an ever stronger team
around Barry.
Last
night to cheer myself up, I caught Jack Black
in "School of Rock." Easily one of the
best films of the year. It won't win any awards
but it kept me laughing and the audience loved
it too. Great end title scene worth hanging out
for as well.
Remember
to vote Tuesday. Arnold must be stopped.
